To produce âLa Voiture Noire,â we utilized our ultra-accurate digital scanning on R.B. Pope's original, which was graciously approved by its current owner Ralph Lauren, and built this incredibly detailed and exact scale reproduction with the assistance of Bugatti's automotive historian Julius Kruta. This is without a doubt the greatest reference to chassis number 57453 in existence, since it is based on old photographs and 3D data gathered from one of just two known surviving instances of the 57SC Atlantic. This exquisite scale model was constructed and completed in our workshops with the manufacturer's cooperation and support in terms of original finishes, materials, archival images, and designs. Additionally, the prototype model has been subjected to extensive inspection by the manufacturer's engineering and design teams to assure perfect representational accuracy. The Bugatti 57SC Atlantic 'La Voiture Noire' is a 99-piece limited edition.
The La Voiture Noire was created to commemorate Bugatti's centennial and pays tribute to the company's heritage. In the 1930s, Ettore Bugatti's son Jean created four Type 57 SC Atlantic coupes and rode one of them, dubbed "La Voiture Noire." The renovated and reimagined one-off supercar has already been sold to an unnamed male customer who committed to acquire the vehicle prior to its production. However, the unknown guy will not get it for at least another two years.
