Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport (Black Carbon)

âBugatti is synonymous with the world's most amazing, powerful, and stylish super sports vehicles. With the production of the 300th car, we are once again demonstrating our capabilities in terms of quality and customization,â remarked President Stephan Winkelmann. âThe Chiron Pur Sport is certain to delight its owners. Along with its incredible driving performance, it exemplifies the finest levels of engineering and design, as well as exceptional workmanship. âThe Chiron Pur Sport is driven by a quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W16 engine producing 1,479 horsepower (1,500 PS / 1,103 kW) and 1,180 lb-ft (1,600 Nm). Thus, it takes just 2.3 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 km/h), 5.5 seconds to reach 124 mph (200 km/h), and less than 12 seconds to reach 186 mph (300 km/h).

Bugatti unveiled the Chiron Pur Sport, a lighter, more athletic Hypercar that foregoes peak speed in favor of agility. The Chiron's kerb weight has been reduced by 50 kilos overall with the use of new lightweight components, materials, and magnesium wheels. Aerodynamic improvements, including the inclusion of a 1.9-meter wide rear wing, have also been made to emphasize downforce. This wing does away with the hydraulic components of the Chiron's adjustable spoiler and works in conjunction with the improved rear diffuser and front splitter to increase slow-speed downforce.

Even when observed from orbit, each Chiron makes a statement. However, several aspects of the Pur Sport seem dissonant. To begin, there's the rear wing, which looks as though it belongs on a spaceship in a Star Wars film. The "BUGATTI" writing painted above the wing on the model we drove in California emphasizes the wing's presence. Perhaps this is to avoid misunderstanding when the car's owner's security detail tracks it from a helicopter. The second dubious design feature is the number painted on the front grilleâin our example, 16 for the engine's cylinder countâwhich appears superfluous. Fortunately, the look of a Bugatti is ultimately up to the customer. You don't want the inscription on the wing or the grille number? Simply place your order. This is a $3.6 million automobile with a limited production run of 60, and Bugatti wants you to be delighted. View Photographs Bugatti

1. Bugatti Veyron ($1.9M)

How many automobiles can assert the need for an airport runway in order to reach peak speeds? The Bugatti Veyron, introduced in 2006, does just that: it is physically impossible to drive this supercar at high speeds on regular roads, simply because you would run out of road too rapidly. This is an automobile that makes no concessions, accelerating at the press of a pedal. The Veyron boasts a peak speed of 415 kilometers per hour (258 miles per hour) with a 1,001 horsepower engine, which made it the world's fastest production automobile until its successors were introduced. It's a genuinely unusual automobile, painstakingly created with an array of amazing technologies.
