Today marks the 30th anniversary of the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film! To mark the occasion, NECA has produced a new picture gallery for their forthcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990 Film) â Casey Jones and Trench Coat Raphael 7â3 Scale Figure 2-Pack. This set, along with the forthcoming Super shredder and Tokka and Rahzar 2-Pack, will be a Walmart exclusive. It was initially scheduled for a second-quarter release, but there is no news on whether that remains the case. Casey Jones comes with interchangeable hands, a hockey stick, a goalie stick, a golf club, and a baseball bat, as well as a bag to transport the weapons. In case you're wondering, the mask is not detachable. Raphael comes with a detachable cloth trench coat, bag, headgear, two sais, a pizza slice, interchangeable hands, and a baseball bat. Long-time Ninja Turtles fans will rejoice at the triumphant return of a particular hockey-masked hero in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows (in theaters June 3). The character of vigilante sidekick Casey Jones, played in the upcoming film by Arrow's Stephen Amell, was created on the big screen by Elias Koteas in the 1990 blockbuster Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. In August 2014, two years before the Casey-less TMNT remake hit cinemas, Chicago P.D. actor Koteas chatted with Yahoo Movies about his experiences of working with huge turtle puppets. Below is an edited version of the interview.

TMNT animated series from 2003 [edit]

Jones has a considerably larger part in the 2003 animated series. He talks with a Brooklyn accent, which is narrated in English by Marc Thompson and in Japanese by Tokuyoshi Kawashima[citation required]. The personality of this incarnation is comparable to Raphael's. Raphael initially meets Casey while attempting to foil a Purple Dragons mugging. Raphael attempts to reason with Casey, seeing a much of himself in him, and prevents him from letting his fury get the better of him (Raphael himself had just almost severely injured Michelangelo and was overwhelmed by guilt). Though initially unimpressed in Raphael's words, Casey develops a relationship with him after losing a bike race to Raph and starts listening to his lectures. Casey, Raphael, and the other turtles then band together to combat a Purple Dragon gang. Casey thereafter becomes a key ally of the Turtles, developing a stronger bond with Raphael than in any previous form.

Ticket office The film premiered in the United States on March 30, 1990, and spent the weekend at the top of the box office, making more than $25 million, the largest opening weekend gross for an independent film up to that point. Now comes the film adaptation of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles." I did not enter the screening with a spring in my step and a song in my heart. Indeed, I did not leave thereafter with my spirits restored. However, this film is far from being as horrible as it might have been, and is perhaps the finest Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle film ever made. In other words, it delivers on everything Ninja Turtles fans have come to expect: the Turtles, subways, pizza, enemies, a basic narrative, and an account of how the Turtles found their Zen-master, a wise old mouse.

As befits his alma college, the Actors Studio of New York, Koteas, 53, addresses the topic of acting with serious contemplation. So how does a man like him wind up in scenes with enormous rubber turtles? Quite honestly, my life was in shambles at the moment. That is just what I recall,â Koteas confesses. âThe work provided a vacation from that: going and playing with turtles and pretending to be a swashbuckling, tree-swinging, rooftop vigilante.â
