The Pacific Ocean touches five continents: North America, South America, Asia, Australia, and Antarctica. Australia, Canada, China, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Singapore, and South Korea are the countries that border the Pacific Ocean. The Atlantic Ocean is the second biggest of the world's five oceans. It covers an estimated size of 106,460,000 square kilometers. The Atlantic Ocean, it is claimed, controls our weather patterns, including hurricanes. Numerous species call it home. To the east, the ocean divides the continents of Europe and Africa from those of North and South America. The Atlantic Ocean is bordered by a number of nations.

The Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC) regulates public higher education and offers advice to the state's two public institution systems. The University of Tennessee system is comprised of four core campuses in Knoxville, Chattanooga, Martin, and Pulaski, as well as a Health Sciences Center in Memphis and an aeronautical research site in Tullahoma. [363] The Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR), often known as The College System of Tennessee, is responsible for the administration of 13 community colleges and 27 Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology campuses (TCAT). [364] Until 2017, the TBR also managed the state's six public universities; it now provides administrative assistance to them. [365] The Tennessee General Assembly enacted the Tennessee Promise in 2014, which allows in-state high school graduates to enroll tuition-free in two-year post-secondary education programs such as associate degrees and certificates at community colleges and trade schools in Tennessee that are funded by the state lottery. [366] The Tennessee Promise was established as part of then-Governor Bill Haslam's "Drive to 55" initiative, which aimed to increase the percentage of college-educated citizens in the state to at least 55%.
