The Ghost of Kyiv adds to his tally of assassinations. Throughout the night, reports came in of an aircraft shooting down four more helicopters and a Russian Ilushyn II-76 transporting a landing force near Vasilkyv, south of Kyiv. As far as it seems, this ghost is already in the air, guarding Kyiv's residents. However, he must exercise caution in not being there for an extended period of time, since the Russians are capable of rapidly apprehending him. Even though former President Poroshenko just shared a photo of a generic pilot, this continues to instill hope in all Ukrainian people who are now fighting for their nation. What he tweeted was as follows: "The MiG-29 pilot dubbed 'The Ghost of Kyiv' is shown in the photograph. He terrorizes adversaries and inspires pride in the Ukrainian people. He's beaten six Russian pilots! Ukraine will undoubtedly win with such formidable defenders!"
Poroshenko, who served as president from 2014 to 2019, shared a picture on Twitter of a helmeted pilot in a cockpit, identifying the individual as the Ghost of Kyiv. "With such stalwart defenders on our side," Poroshenko tweeted, "Ukraine will surely prevail!" The Defense Ministry published the picture almost three years ago. The pilot in the photograph is doing a flying test with a new helmet. Thus, even if it is the mystery pilot, the photograph is vintage.
Russia's invasion of Ukraine started immediately after Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a "special military operation" in Ukraine's Donbas region on February 24, 2022, at around 05:00 local time.
Following the statement, missiles struck many areas throughout Ukraine, including the capital city of Kyiv, and ground troops arrived two hours later.
