Kim Darby Pete Duel Funeral

Following his death, Roger Davis, who had previously served as the show's narrator, assumed his position in Alias Smith and Jones. Duel's loss proved to be too significant for the series to survive, and it was canceled in 1973. [edit] Filmography

There are some extremely poetic reviews, both here and on the US site, that pretty well tell it all. As a result, I'm going to just restate a few items from my personal viewpoint below. On the other side, this is a well-researched book that provides much light on Pete Duel without obfuscating his inconsistencies and flaws.

Recognizing that his son was more interested in acting than in studying, his father encouraged he quit university and seek a career as an actor, first in New York, where he graduated from the American Theatre Wing, and then in Hollywood, where he achieved success in 1963.

Following a succession of lesser appearances, he received his big break in 1965 with a role in the comedy series "Gidget" with a teenage Sally Field. A year later, he landed another role in another sitcom, "Love on a Rooftop," which resulted in a seven-year deal with Universal Pictures.

On Hollywood, he found employment in television, appearing in minor roles in comedies such as " Gomer Pyle, USMC " and combat dramas such as " Combat! ". While these little roles provided valuable experience, the same cannot be said for the quantity of screen time he received.
