Everyone is now either a member of a road gang or exposes himself to assault. Or, as Max Rokatanski, a former road patrol officer, put it, chooses the life of a hermit and isolates himself, attempting to connect with as few people as possible. Max slipped into the path of an outside observer after the deaths of her son, his wife, and their vengeance murderers, and is in no rush to return to the degraded society: he roams the burned desert on his âInterceptor,â content with his solitude. However, even in the huge post-apocalyptic desert, Max cannot see the rest: there is no redemption anywhere due to the individuals who have lost their human shape.
