J- Jamie sat on the iron throne after the crazy king's assassination because he knew he'd taken the better of two awful choices but wanted to reconcile his actions and forgive himself in some manner. He'd seen the monarch murder innocent people with no repercussions from gods or mankind. He was well aware that he had committed a heinous act for the greater good, and at that moment, he needed to do everything to persuade himself that it was acceptable. Soon later, Ned Stark and his troops arrive. Jamie makes a joke to distract attention away from the most heinous act he's ever committed, and here we are.
Into the Void
The episode's most compelling scene occurs towards the conclusion: Claire's increasing reliance on ether to ward off dreams of her attack by Lionel Brown and his crew. Perhaps that is the significance of her angel sex session with Jamie; regaining their closeness may not be sufficient during her recovery (nor should it be expected to be), and she needs something that fully knocks her out. While Jamie has been mostly receptive to the information and tactics Claire has brought to the past, I can't image him being anything but fearful for her if it becomes clear that she is putting herself at risk with this new miraculous cure.
Twenty Vicodin: House has been incarcerated for a year, and the parole committee has agreed to release him early in five days if he remains clear of trouble. House meets Jessica Adams while incarcerated. House's parole is revoked when he risks his release to rescue a patient, and he is condemned to another eight months in jail. After another two months, House receives a visit from the new Dean of Medicine, Eric Foreman, who arranges for his release on parole in order to rescue a patient. When House returns to the hospital, he discovers that his world has shifted dramatically: Chase, Taub, and Thirteen have all gone on, and he must now collaborate with Chi Park to cure the patient. The hospital lacks the funding necessary to equip him with a complete team. Wilson informs House during their first discussion that they are no longer pals. By the conclusion of the episode, Wilson had punched House and informed him that he would deliver supper to his house at 8 p.m.
